“No place for racism in any sport”- Manchester United defender Rafael Varane stands in solidarity with F1 legend Lewis Hamilton over a racist slur

Raphael Varane, a defender for Manchester United, wrote Lewis Hamilton a letter of solidarity following the iconic Formula 1 driver’s experience with abhorrent racial abuse.
Nelson Piquet, the legendary driver, appeared to hurl racist epithets against Hamilton in a 2021 interview, shocking the Formula 1 world.
The 69-year-old has been told that if he doesn’t publicly apologize to Hamilton for his abhorrent statements, he will be punished. Varane is the most recent prominent person to lend his support after United defender Hamilton addressed the subject on social media.
Michael Schumacher and Hamilton presently share the record for the most F1 world championships with seven. Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for minority representation in all movements and for black rights.

Raphael Varane of Manchester United then backed Hamilton, an Arsenal supporter. The renowned racer and the Frenchman both agreed that racism has no place in any sport. Varane supported him with a Twitter reply:
Varane transferred from Real Madrid to Manchester United last summer. He was only able to make 29 appearances all across the season owing to several injuries.
