The OGC Nice player who was in danger of harming himself is now safe, according to reports. On September 29th at 10:30 am (CET), Alexis Beka-Beka was on the A8 motorway in Nice. He climbed up the Magnan Viaduct and threatened to jump from the 100-metre-high bridge.

Soon, Police and firefighters arrived, and a psychologist from OGC Nice helped talk him down. Moreover, their words were successful as the player was safely recovered. Alexis Beka-Beka was removed from the site after spending 3.5 hrs with his legs hanging in the air.

“Above all, we are relieved that everything ended well today for Alexis. We will continue to respect medical confidentiality and we ask everyone to do the same and respect their privacy,” stated OGC Nice President Jean-Pierre Rivere, earlier today.

Now, Marca has reported that the reason for his behavior is due to an alleged breakup with his girlfriend. The player, 22, is currently in recovery and is receiving full support from his club. The Ligue-1 club also stated, “We are in his support as well as that of the entire club.”

OGC Nice, early 2023/24 season review

Coached by Francesco Farioli, 34, the French side, OGC Nice have started the season strong as they currently sit in 2nd place beating Ligue 1 favourites PSG at Parc des Princes along the way collecting 12 points out of a possible 18.

Moffi is currently the top scorer and assister in the club with 3 goals and 2 assists respectively. Youssouf Ndayishimiye is also having a breakthrough season at the club as the midfielder has already made 6 appearances this season after only making 10 appearances in the entirety of the ’22/23 season.

The OGC Nice squad boasts a mixture of experience and talent on the pitch having Treble-winning defender Dante as their captain and exciting young center-back Jean-Clair Todibo partnering him. OGC Nice will hope to continue their flourishing start as they battle for the top spot this weekend against league leaders Brest.
