“One point each again”- Twitter reacts as Portugal versus Spain ends in a draw for the fifth consecutive time in the Nations League 2022

Portugal and Spain started their Nations League campaign with a point each as both the sides failed to break the deadlock and ended the match 1-1 in Sevilla. Alvaro Morata opened the scoring in the first half for Spain from a counterattack as he put past Costa in the 25th minute.

Portugal snatched a late win to level the score after Cristiano Ronaldo came on the pitch in the second half. Ricardo Horta scored his debut goal for Portugal to get one point for the Portuguese side in the 82nd minute.

The last five matches between the neighboring countries ended with a draw making both sides inseparable on the football pitch. Spain and Portugal both had chances to get all the three points but both the teams failed to score the winner for their team.

Alvaro Morata becomes the joint-seventh top goalscorer in La Roja’s history as he netted his 26th goal in all competitions for his national side. Gavi and Pablo Sarabia paired up for the counterattack to feed the Morata to open the scoring in the 23rd minute.

Spain controlled the game very well with most of the ball possession to their name with an equal number of shots on goal for both the side which proves the quality of the game was nearly equal.

UEFA Nations League: Portugal vs Spain- As it Happened

The UEFA Nations League started with Portugal and Spain with a point a-piece as the visiting nation snatched the win from Spain and makes it a five-game draw between both countries. Moerata opened the scoring as Spain had the control of the game but Portugal fought the entire first half without their talisman Cristiano Ronaldo who started the game on the bench and came off in the second half but couldn’t make any difference in the game.

Horta scored in the second half for Fernando Santos’ men to equalize and share points in the first game for both teams. Spain will face the Czech Republic while Portugal meets Switzerland in their next round of the campaign.
