Injured star, Pedri has recently started streaming and was on with the famous Spanish Twitch personality, Ibai Llanos‘ live stream. During the stream, the two discussed various topics regarding FC Barcelona, his career, and football in general.
When he was asked about one player he wanted to sign for Barca, he said he would sign Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. Haaland currently is the joint-highest top goal scorer in the Premier League, alongside Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, with 14 goals. Pedri said he would sign the striker as Lewy (Robert Lewandowski) couldn’t play till he was 60.
If I had to sign a player for Barça, I would go for Haaland. He scores a lot of goals, and unfortunately, Lewy is not going to last until 60 (laughs). There is also Julian Alvarez, the spider. I like him.Pedri on the stream
Lewandowski is currently struggling to find the back of the net. Since October, he has managed to score only 3 goals but regularly starts matches. To replace the Polish striker, Pedri selected the Norwegian star.
He further added that he would sign Argentina and Manchester City forward, Julian Alvarez. The Barca midfielder said Alvarez was like a “spider”. Subsequently, the young Argentine has also had a good season so far, scoring 12 goals and assisting 9 times in 28 appearances.
Pedri says he doesn’t know when he will return from injury
Pedri has been struggling with injuries the entire season. In August, he suffered a hamstring injury which saw him out for 2 months. He returned to FC Barcelona’s playing XI, but once again suffered an injury just 6 weeks later.
In the stream with Ibai Llanos, Pedri revealed things were difficult for him due to his injuries, but he was in good condition. He revealed that he started working hard on the road to recovery, hoping to get on the pitch soon. He also said he had no idea when he would get back on the pitch, but he’s sure it will be pretty soon.
It is fine, even though these are tough times. It is tough mentally, because you are always mentioned. I have changed my diet, I do Pilates now, as well as specific training sessions. When I get back on the pitch I forget about everything and don't think about anything. I don't think about injuries, coming back from one doesn't affect me. It will be soon.Pedri on his injuries
Barcelona’s other young star, Gavi, has also gone through an injury that will keep him out for a long time. In November, he tore his ACL and was ruled out for the season. When asked about his teammate, he said he tried supporting his teammate whenever he could as he had also gone through injuries.
I help Gavi because I know what it's like to be injured for a long time. At first he was upset and now he's better. But I help him every day.
Meanwhile, the unexpected collab of Pedri on Ibai Llanos’ Twitch livestream has surely made the highlight for Barcelona fans for the day. Pedri was trending on Twitter as well.
