The last few days of the year are one of the many festive days, with Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Eve. It’s a time of spreading joy and enjoying time with family. Unfortunately, the Christmas period was one of worries for Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish and his family.
Pep Guardiola revealed that Grealish’s house in Cheshire was robbed during Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Everton. The mansion, which was recently purchased by Grealish, was robbed of over £1 million worth of jewelry. While his family and Grealish’s fiancée were watching the match, the thieves entered the house without letting them know.
When the family realized something was not right, they informed the police by pressing the panic button. The family was not familiar with the house, with it being the first time they were visiting the place.
The family was inside, it is what it is today, modern days, with many things happening. It was a bad moment for him and his family but fortunately, the family was not damaged [hurt].Pep Guardiola said in the pre-match press conference
Grealish was informed by City’s head of player support and protocol after the final whistle, and ran to the dressing room, worried. As of now, the Cheshire police are investigating the robbery. According to Grealish and his family, the thieves stole watches and jewelry. None of the family members were hurt, but many felt vulnerable and scared.
Pep Guardiola expects the player’s experience to get them back in the title race
Manchester City currently sit 4th in the Premier League table, 5 points behind table-toppers Liverpool. Many fans believe the team has had a huge drop in form, with them not being at their usual selves in the season. They have managed only 2 wins in their last 7 matches, which is a huge concern for them. But Pep Guardiola believes the player’s experience and the tough fixtures will get City back in the title race.
The lower teams in the bottom are getting points and results against the top teams. In the last few seasons, it didn't happen much, but the top teams are struggling to get the results. So never give up, keep going and go game by game. We are used to it in the last seasons, we just need to be calm, analyze it.Pep Guardiola to the press
City now play bottom-placed Sheffield United at home. They go into the fixture without Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku, Kevin de Bruyne and John Stones, who got injured in the 3-1 win over Everton. Jack Grealish could play despite the recent robbery.
