Pep Guardiola is well known for his bizarre claims and antics in Press conferences. The Manchester City boss made certain comments that have baffled fans and pundits alike. The Spaniard is well known for his time as Barcelona manager. He perfected ‘Tiki-Taka’ and pioneered Barca to multiple trophies. However, the 52-year-old says that he now ‘hates Tiki-Taka’. “I hate tiki-taka. Tiki-taka means passing the ball for the sake of it,” Pep said.
As per the book Pep Confidential, Guardiola labels the act of passing the ball for the sake of it as ‘pointless’. He also asked people to not believe that Barcelona did Tiki-Taka and that it was ‘made up’. He insisted that Barca’s style of play was to shift the opponent’s balance play. Guardiola said, “The style was to overload one side of the pitch so that the opposition has to tilt its defense”. This leaves the other side weak, giving an opportunity to attack, said the current Manchester City manager.
However, many claim that the Spaniard has a habit of twisting his words. The above quote hints at the very opposite of Pep’s philosophy at Barca. As a result, fans on Twitter have started to debate the same. Many even claim that it was Pep who perfected ‘Tiki-Taka’.
On the other hand, Sir Alex Ferguson is regarded to have pioneered the ‘overloading’ of a wing.

Pep Guardiola reflects on the loss against Wolves
Manchester City suffered their first league defeat of the season on Saturday. The defending League Champions lost 2-1 against Wolves. Man City failed to go ahead after conceding an own goal in the 13th minute. The Cityzens went behind courtesy of a Ruben Dias own goal. However, a sublime free-kick from Julian Alvarez drew the away side level.
Against all odds, Wolves took the lead again through Hwang Hee-chan. The home side took all three points on the evening. Following the game, Guardiola pointed fingers at three of his players. Pep said that his side ‘lacked fluidity in attack’ and that they struggled in transition. He said that Mateo Kovacic and Ruben failed to attack the ‘central defenders’.
He also said that Matheus Nunes was subbed off for failing to create space in tight areas. “I needed more dynamic,” explained the City Boss. In spite of the loss, Manchester City remain top of the table. The club has 18 points from 7 games. However, Arsenal are right behind in 3rd, with 17 points. The two sides clash on 8th October, after City take on RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
