Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola appeared to mock Real Madrid during their UEFA Champions League clash last night. The Cityzens ran out dominant 4-0 winners at the Etihad Stadium, winning 5-1 on aggregate.
Pep appeared to be in conversation with Los Blancos left-winger Vinicius Junior. The Catalan laughed about City’s domination during the game, asking the Brazilian “Vini..Vini.. are you going to play?” Vinicius responded with a smile, saying “Yes, yes, in just a little bit.” Guardiola laughed and said “Yeah, sure”, as the two shook hands respectfully.
Fans were stunned at the City manager’s confidence, as his team humiliated the European champions and cemented their spot in the Champions League final in grandiose fashion. The club from Manchester are looking to win the competition for the first time, having failed to win despite reaching the latter stages on multiple occasions.
It has been a season to forget for Real Madrid, who, apart from their disappointment in Europe, missed out on La Liga to arch-enemy Barcelona. They are at risk of throwing away second place to city rivals Atletico Madrid. Atleti are just two points behind Real, with four games to play. It has not been all bad for fans of Los Blancos, though, with the club winning their first Copa del Rey since 2013-14.

Pep Guardiola gives his thoughts on Manchester City’s treble challenge

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said his side could ‘visualise’ the treble, with the team just four games away from completing the historical achievement. Manchester United are the only English side to have won the English Treble. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side won the Premier League, FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League in their famous 1998/99 season.
“Let me win the first two,” said Guardiola when asked about City’s chances of winning the treble. “In the Premier League we are close. We know we need one more game. I would say we play against our neighbours and against an Italian team in the finals.”
“The season is really, really good, now we have to lift it. We are close and of course we are going to try. We are there, we can think about it, we can visualise it. Three games away. One each of the competitions, we can do it,” he added.
