“He is here for a long time”-Pep Guardiola reveals Jack Grealish’s future aspirations at Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola praises Jack Grealish, after the match against Southampton in their needed three-point chase

Manchester City Coach Pep Guardiola praises English winger Jack Grealish, after the match against Southampton in their needed three-point chase. At the same time, Pep Guardiola makes it clear that he has to get even better, as the club wants a lot more from him. Grealish made an excellent finish after the ball bounced back from Southampton keeper Gavin Bazunu.
Pep says that Grealish is now gradually getting accustomed to the playing style of Manchester City and he considers himself a part of the team. The Spanish Tactician further states the English Winger is not for a short-term plan but is an important part of the team’s long-term project. So the player needs to keep working to produce more results for the team.
“Yeah, he’s playing really good this season. But at the same time, like he knows, we want more. Now he believes he is part of it. Maybe when he arrived he throught: ‘ I’m not good enough after the team won the Premier League. Sometimes players adapt immediately, sometimes they need more time. Jack didn’t come here for just one season, he’s here for a long time. He’s an important player for us,” said the Spaniard.
Jack Grealish was signed by the Etihad for €100 million from Aston Villa, setting a new British transfer record back in 2021. The expectations from the English International were huge looking at his price tag but got a poor start in Manchester City. The Englishman was also benched in the most important matches in all competitions last season.
Now the table looks turned. The former Aston Villa winger Jack Grealish has now found the rhythm in his new club Manchester City. Pep wants the best out of him and his consistency in the form, adding to the team’s tally of goals. Grealish has scored five goals in 23 Premier League games for City this season. A brilliant goal coming against Liverpool in the absence of Erling Haaland and today’s goal against Southampton.

I just tried to create as much as possible l. I could have had two or three more. If they score I get the assist. It is a proud moment but I have to go on,” said Grealish.
Manchester City will now face Bundesliga Giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League Quarter Final under their new German Manager Thomas Tuchel next week. Today’s match against Southampton would surely increase the boost and morale of the player before the important fixture.
