Pep Guardiola reportedly said that people were expecting a lot from Manchester City yesterday. He also said that those expectations were somewhat unrealistic and weren’t something that the team shared as the opponents were Real Madrid who are a legendary club in the tournament.
In the post-match interview, a reporter asked Pep about how he felt about the game. The reporter said, “Everyone thought we would see City destroy Real Madrid.” To this Pep replied, saying, “Who’s everyone? Do you know who we are playing against?”
Pep then continued as he said, “Do you know how many #UCL titles they have? It’s not my fault you thought we would win 6-0.” The first leg of the UCL semi-final between Man City and Real Madrid was a 1-1 draw. Both Vincius Jr. and Kevin De Bruyn helped their team to keep their hopes alive for the second leg. Both teams will face off in the second leg at the Etihad Stadium on May 18, 2023.

Manchester City joins the race to sign Benfica’s 18-year-old midfield sensation this summer: Reports
Manchester City is reportedly interested in signing 18 years old Italian talent Cher Ndour. Although the club might face competition as other European superpowers are also interested in acquiring his services.
Ndour has only made one appearance for the first team. But he has been a regular for Benfica B. Cher became the youngest-ever debutant for the side when he came off the bench in May 2021.
Ndour was born in Brescia, Italy, and started his career at his hometown club before moving to Atalanta. Then he made the switch to Portugal and Benfica in 2020. He has turned out for Italy at every youth level from Under-15 to currently the Under-20s. And he reportedly looks set to have an international career with the European champions if his progression continues on the path it is on.
The 18-year-old central midfielder is out of contract in the summer. This means his services will be available on a free transfer. Although there would be some compensation due to both Benfica and Atalanta. His talents have reportedly alerted both Manchester clubs, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Juventus. All of them are keen to snap up the prospect this summer.
