Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, revealed on the Spanish TV show El Chiringuito that Vinicius had received several offers but had only considered staying with the La Liga giants. One of these approaches came from PSG, who made their first move a few summers ago after pursuing him since November 2021.

During their discussions, PSG offered him a sizable signing bonus as well as a number of commercial opportunities in Qatar. Perez and general director Jose Angel Sanchez appreciated being kept up to date on PSG’s moves. Both men admire the Brazilian international for his abilities, professionalism, and personality.

The Brazilian registered 22 goals and 20 assists in all competitions in the 2021-22 season, leading to interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs but Vinicius is keen to stay in the Spanish capital.

Real Madrid wanted to sign him to a contract that would last until 2028, but they agreed that the new contract could end in 2026 or 2027. Vinicius’ agent proposed that his client receive 10 million euros plus bonuses if he signs until 2026, or around 12 million euros if his contract is extended until 2027.
