Paris Saint-Germain talisman Kylian Mbappe has revealed that the statements he made regarding players’ discipline earlier were not directed towards teammate Neymar Jr. The Frenchman cleared the air in an interview after PSG’s 4-3 Ligue 1 victory over LOSC Lille on Sunday. It was the first time this year that Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., and Kylian Mbappe found themselves on the scoresheet together.

Kylian Mbappe was disappointed after PSG’s Champions League loss against Bayern Munich. Despite the player’s efforts, he was unable to guide his club to a home advantage over the Bavarians. “Our players have to be in good health for the return leg. Everyone needs to eat and sleep well. We’re going to work, get everyone back and get there to qualify,” Mbappe told the media.

The above statements were misinterpreted by media outlets, as many saw this interview as a direct message from Mbappe to his Brazilian friend. To add to the spice, Neymar Jr. was spotted in a fast-food restaurant just a few hours later to PSG’s defeat. Though, the 23-year-old World Cup winner has denied such claims as he considers Neymar a crucial piece in the club’s attack.

“Eat well and sleep well? It was not a dig against Ney. I hope he will come back quickly because he is an essential player for us, Kylian Mbappe told Prime Video sports France. Mbappe also sent his best wishes to Neymar Jr. The Brazilian star was forced out of the game because of an ankle injury in the second half of the game.

Despite having world-class players in attack, Kylian Mbappe is arguably the most in-form player on PSG’s roster right now. After lifting the FIFA World Cup Golden Boot trophy for France, Mbappe has been unstoppable for the Parisians. The French striker has scored 27 goals in 28 games for PSG this season. He has also assisted six goals in all competitions.

Kylian Mbappe showed his class against Lille as he helped his side come from behind to seal all three points. The Frenchman bagged two goals in PSG’s 4-3 victory at Parc des Princes. The 24-year-old also put an end to PSG’s three-match losing streak. Despite having a star-struck team, they haven’t shown their class in Europe. PSG has often needed its protagonists to help them from a hefty situation.

Lionel Messi scored a freekick in injury time to seal the game for Paris Saint-Germain. The French champions are currently holding on to a seven-point lead after playing 24 games in the league this season. Do you think Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi can guide PSG to their first-ever UCL trophy?
