Raheem Sterling can leave Manchester City this summer with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea interested in signing him: Reports

Raheem Sterling

In an all-successful season for Manchester City, Raheem Sterling has seen a bit of downfall following the arrival of new players. Sterling managed only 23 starts for City in the Premier League this season, scoring 13 goals and getting 5 assists. However, while the player’s output has not dropped at all, City could look to offload him as they welcome new stars into the Ethiad stadium.

With Riyad Maharez, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, and now Erling Haaland also part of the squad, Sterling has seen himself fall down the pecking order and out of Pep Guardiola’s first team. Since joining, Raheem Sterling has managed 131 goals and 95 assists in 339 games for Man City.

Pep converted the 27-year-old into one of the most lethal wingers in the Premier League. However, a disappointing 2020-21 season seems to have followed him this year as well and the star logo store gets out and starts fresh.

As reported by Sky Sports, Champions League winners, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea all want Sterling with them next season. Madrid has already lost out on Kylian Mbappe while Bayern is set to lose Robert Lewandowski. Chelsea also needs a goalscoring winger upfront after Romelu Lukaku has a disappointing first year at the Stamford Bridge.

Raheem Sterling’s contract expires in June 2023 and it doesn’t seem that he is eager to extend his stay at Manchester City. If a big-money offer does arrive, from one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Sterling could be on his way to a new challenge.

As things stand, Real Madrid is the forerunner for Sterling as a replacement for Mbappe. On the other hand, Bayern has made Sadio Mane their priority with Sterling as a backup option. Chelsea also has a flurry of forwards upfront, hence only a few player sales could help them fund a move for Sterling.
