Real Madrid are in advance talks with Zinedine Zidane. He’s the number one option for the club if Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti leaves for Brazil national team job this summer.

Brazil National team has been without a manager ever since their long-term coach Tite left the job after their unfortunate exit from the World Cup. Ever since then Real Madrid’s manager Carlo has been heavily linked to take up the hot seat. Although Ancelotti has reportedly denied being interested in the offer from the national team. Rumors are only growing stronger of the Italian mastermind taking Tite’s vacant place in Brazil.

In case Carlo leaves this summer, Real Madrid needs to figure out options that could be a prominent successor to Ancelotti at the club. Many names are recently coming up with the likes of the club legend Raul being the club’s choice to become the next manager. But the latest reports suggest that French legend Zidane might be far ahead in this race.

Zinedine Zidane has already had 2 stints as the manager of the club. And in both spells, he has shown his calibre as a manager. Zidane reportedly won 11 trophies in his two spells as Real Madrid manager.

It is to be seen if the club puts faith back in their ex-manager Zidane to lead them to glory again in his 3rd stint. Or will there be a new face leading the club this summer? It all now depends on Ancelotti and his decision about the potential move to South America.

Real Madrid have reportedly confirmed that midfielder Luka Modric has been diagnosed with a thigh injury. This could rule him out of the Copa del Rey final and the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Manchester City.

Modric managed just over an hour of the recent 4-2 defeat to Girona before limping off. He spent the rest of the game sitting on the bench with ice strapped to his leg. Madrid have since confirmed that Modric has suffered a muscle injury. Although they refused to put a time frame on his return, local reports have suggested it is serious enough to rule him out of the upcoming fixtures.

Los Blancos will face Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final on May 6 2023. It is before Manchester City heads to the Santiago Bernabeu three days later for the first leg of their UCL semi-final.

While facing questions on Modric’s injury in Friday’s press conference, Ancelotti said, “He has a small injury. I don’t know if he will reach the cup final. We are hurt, but these things happen. I hope he recovers.”

Carlo was then reportedly asked about who would be the best replacement for Modric. To this, he said, “By characteristics Dani Ceballos. But in general, we have many resources like Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni. Plenty of tools to replace him. Although he is an irreplaceable player due to his experience in these matches.”
