Real Madrid set to sign Antonio Rudiger on a free deal, reaches a verbal agreement with the Chelsea star: Reports
Antonio Rudiger is all set to depart from Chelsea and sign for Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer. The official announcement is yet to make from both sides as Rudiger had other demands for his transfer but the negotiations were not liked by big clubs.
Antonio Rudiger wished to make his salary demands of 12 million euros but had to agree to a lesser amount to get himself to the bigger clubs. Los Blancos are the clear favorites for bringing in the 29-year-old German international on a free transfer to strengthen their defense.
Real Madrid looks to offer Antonio Rudiger a four-year deal and the defender looks to agree to the deal and would confirm the deal at the end of the season with 5 league matches to play at Chelsea.
Rudiger’s stellar performance at the champions league quarter-final second leg saw Chelsea beat Real Madrid on the night but failed to qualify on aggregate terms. Carlo Ancelotti has shown interest in adding Rudiger to their defense option along with Alaba, Eder Militao, and Nacho.
Real Madrid on the verge of winning their 35th La Liga title, might also end up winning the Champions League for a record 14 times
Real Madrid is really close to winning their 35th La Liga title this season as they stay at the top of the table with 15 points clear. Real Madrid will next play Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final in the first-leg encounter. Ancelotti’s team is also a strong contender to win this year’s Champions League after an emphatic comeback in the quarter-final against Chelsea to win the tie.
As Marcelo is set to leave the club this summer and the injury issues of Dani Carvajal, Ancelotti had to worry about his defensive options. Rudiger will strengthen their squad alongside Alaba, Nacho, and Eder Militao.
Ferland Mendy is also under injury issues which made the Los Blancos think about a top-class defender. Rudiger has been the first-choice central defender at Chelsea who plays an important role in attack secondarily.
