22-year-old Brazilian star Vinicius Jr, who plays for Spanish giants Real Madrid, recently posted an Instagram story of his gym. He wrote a motivational caption on his story, with some of the greatest basketball and football players’ mural on display. Vinicius Jr. has a mural of Michael Jordan, Brazilian legend Ronaldo, Los Angeles Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant and three times World Cup winner Pele in his personal gym.

Vinicius Jr has suffered from racial abuse in recent matches in La Liga and was apparently targeted by the defenders of the opponent teams. He showed his focus and mindset by posting the photo, and wrote, “Inspired by the past, focused on the future.” Vinicius Jr. has played a key role in Real Madrid’s first team, winning the La Liga title twice in the 2019/20 and 2021/22 seasons. He also won one UEFA Champions League and one UEFA Super Cup, two FIFA Club World Cup and two UEFA Supercopa Espana.

Vinicius was substituted in the 87th minute, with the match ending in a 0-0 draw. Since then, he has made 137 appearances, scoring 31 goals and providing 25 assists.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti concerned over increasing fouls on Vinicius Jr

Vinicius Jr and Neymar Jr are the most fouled players in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season.

Vinicius Jr has suffered the most fouls from opponents this season, with a total of 79 times fouls. The Real Madrid winger has been fouled 16 more times than any other player in Europe’s top 5 leagues. The second most fouled player is his Brazilian teammate Neymar Junior. Ancelotti expressed his concern of the increasing fouls on the Brazilian. “It is a problem of Spanish football. I am a part of Spanish football and I think it’s a problem that we have to solve.”

Vinicius Jr is the first player to be fouled 10 times in one game this season. He suffered 10 fouls in their 1-0 defeat to Mallorca on February 5. Carlo Ancelotti shared his thoughts on the situation after the game,  “Today, the referee forgot about persistent fouling. It’s a yellow card when a player keeps committing foul after foul. We ended the first half with two cards and Mallorca none. Everything that happens is not Vinicius’ fault.”

Real Madrid recently won their record 8th Club World Cup title, in a 5-3 victory against Saudi side Al-Hilal. Carlo Ancelotti praised the Brazilian winger, as he scored two goals in the game. Federico Valverde also scored twice, while French forward Karim Benzema scored one. “Vinícius has been improving since last season just as the team has also grown. We won the Champions League and now the world title, and Vinícius has grown along the way,” Ancelotti said.
