“Real Madrid will fight back,” Toni Kroos boosts the confidence of club players after Manchester City kicks out Los Blancos from their ‘favourite competition

Real Madrid’s defeat to Manchester City ends the Los Blancos’ dream to defend their Champions League title. Toni Kroos posted an emotional message after his side saw the exit in the Semi-final clash against Manchester City. 

The German midfielder called the Champions League Los Blancos’ ‘favorite’ tournament. Kroos expressed that it was difficult to accept the defeat. He said ‘Just not good enough last night’ as Los Blancos would like to forget the defeat against Manchester City. 

Real Madrid took the lead in Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg. Manchester City equalized the same night unless seeing a 5-1 defeat on aggregate in the second leg. Toni Kroos saw one of the long shots hitting the crossbar. The German International claims that Real Madrid ‘will go with the head held high’. 

One could never forget how Los Blancos defeated Manchester City in the Semi Final last season. The team trailing with one goal turned the game in the last few minutes. The Carlo Ancelotti side then went on to win the title last season. Things were different last night as Real Madrid saw a landslide defeat in the Etihad in the Semi-Final. But the German International is hopeful that Los Blancos will ‘fight back as always’

Toni Kroos’s Champions League run with Real Madrid. 

Toni Kroos joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich back in 2014. The former German International had a massive impact in the midfield forming a trio with Luka Modric and Casemiro. The 33-year-old played a crucial role in Real Madrid’s Champions League victories. 

Toni Kroos has been part of Los Blancos’ part in their four title wins. The player was seen scoring two crucial goals last year in the Champions League. In the prime seasons of 2016, 2017, and 2018, the player created major chances for the teams while handling the midfield. 

The former German International has played the roles of midfielder and defensive midfielder in the Champions League. The player has been crucial to block attacks of teams like Manchester City and Bayern Munich while creating chances for Los Blancos. 

Toni Kroos has extended his contract with Real Madrid. The former Bayern Munich midfielder has been extended for a term of one more year. The player will stay in Los Blancos till 2024. The former German International will look ahead to make a major comeback with Real Madrid in the next season.
