Real Madrid, spearheaded by the MVP Tavares, claimed the title for the 36th time in the club’s history with a 3-1 win over Barcelona in the final series, played at the WiZink Center.
In a season plagued with so many setbacks, the Whites lifted their 36th league title in the club’s history and the second trophy of the season after the Super Cup triumph. The WiZink Center faithful once again played its part as the team made fought bravely to prevail in a game that was neck-and-neck until the end, spearheaded by a magnificent Tavares (41 points in 30 minutes and voted MVP).

This triumph makes the Real Madrid basketball team more successful in terms of league titles when compared with its football counterpart who have 35 league titles to their with the latest league win prevailing last season. But when it comes to European glory, Real Madrid Football Club has an upper hand with 14 Champions League title to the basketball team’s 10 Euroleague win.
After the celebration with the Madrid fans in the stadium, the players and coaching staff headed to the dressing room, where Florentino Pérez congratulated the players. The president posed for the customary selfie with captain Llull to capture the image of a Real Madrid team that keeps adding to its spectacular silverware list.

Florentino Perez believes this season has been the most successful one for Real Madrid in terms of both Football and Basketball trophy haul
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez saw the team’s victory over Barca at the WiZink Center, as the basketball team secured the 36th league title in the club’s history.
After the match, he had the following to say, “The season’s been fantastic in both football and basketball. In basketball, we won the Spanish Super Cup and the league against our arch-rivals, which is extremely difficult. We just missed out on the EuroLeague, but we’re delighted with what this team’s done, with the spirit of sacrifice and the work they’ve put in”.
“I couldn’t ask for more and neither could the fans. You only have to see how overjoyed they were. I’d like to say to them that joy here is short-lived and that we have to start working now so that next year we can have another season like this one”.
