Real Madrid’s €30 million signing Reinier Jesus set to join Benfica on a one-year loan deal

Real Madrid’s Reinier Jesus is on the verge of joining Benfica. The Portuguese club wishes to sign the Brazilian midfielder on loan, and all three parties are expected to reach an agreement. According to Marca, the potential deal between Los Blancos and Benfica will not include a buyout option for the Primeira Liga club, and Benfica striker Henrique Araujo’s name has also been mentioned.
At Real Madrid, the 20-year-old midfielder has had no luck. The COVID-19 outbreak halted his progression just as he appeared to have adjusted to his new environment at Real Madrid Castilla.
Real Madrid’s Reinier had a disastrous two-year spell with Borussia Dortmund
Reinier went on loan to Borussia Dortmund, but he wasn’t given as many opportunities as he and Real Madrid might have expected. In Germany, the main reason for his lack of playing time is that he struggled to adjust to his new team. Reinier started only two of the 27 Bundesliga games he appeared in over the last two years.
He will go out on loan again this summer because he has no place in the first team due to his non-EU status. There had been speculation that Reinier would join Ronaldo Nazario’s Real Valladolid, who were recently promoted to La Liga, but it now appears that he will join Benfica.
Real Madrid and Benfica have enjoyed an excellent relationship in the past

Both Real Madrid and the player are now hoping that Reinier will be a good fit at Benfica, justifying the club’s investment in him back in 2019. The deal has been approved by coach Nelson Verissimo, which means that the Brazilian midfielder will be given opportunities in Portugal.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that Benfica and Real Madrid have a great relationship. In fact, Los Blancos have set their sights on Benfica academy product Henrique Araujo, who has already made his first-team debut.
Reinier’s father, Mauro Baslia, told Record that his son is very motivated, hopeful, and enthusiastic. In his father’s words, “How can a 20-year-old boy pursuing his dreams not be motivated by the interest of a club of Benfica’s stature? It’s impossible not to smile. It’s an honour, it’ll be a success, and my son will provide the response the club requires.”
