Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, recently opened up about his stance on racism. The Real Madrid star has had to face something as awful as racism on quite a few occasions in the recent past.
Vinicius had been facing a whole lot of racial abuses in recent times. The Real Madrid left winger has always been very vocal about how difficult it has been for him to continue the game while facing racial slurs. There is the ignorant attitude of fans who believe calling a black player “a monkey is no different” from any other abuse they might direct at the opposition.
Then there is the slow, incomplete, or often insufficient reaction from those with a responsibility to help stamp it out. Vini Jr has always been very clear about his discomfort with such behaviors from fans.
In a recent interview, Vinicius Jr reportedly said, “Racism? I wish it could be brought to an end. I wish I didn’t have to talk about it every time I do an interview. But it’s a very difficult subject. Maybe some people who suffer racism aren’t as calm as I am, and don’t have the support I do.”
Real Madrid has always been behind Vinicius Jr. regarding this subject and had a very strong opinion on Racism. Even the Head coach, on a few occasions, was seen to call for some kind of severe punishment against the racists who use slurs to show their hatred against the player.
Till now, as per reports, La Liga has not taken any concrete steps against these racists. La Liga chief Tebas seems to have been looking the way around this for quite some time now. It is to be seen as to how long will La Liga tolerate such nonsense in their league or if they are ever actually going to take any satisfactory step even after the latest statement of the recent victim of racism, Vinicius Jr.
