Reece James and Gareth Southgate
The Chelsea defender and Englishman Reece James have received the devastating news of him being ruled out from the FIFA World Cup squad 2022, as per Gareth Southgate‘s requirements for the current form of the team. The player shall not be a part of the team heading to Qatar, as per reports.
The Chelsea defender was a highly anticipated player for the world cup and making the already talent-loaded team of England more powerful in terms of play as the player was capable of diligently handling both the defensive lineup and the wing play as well making his dynamics a versatile one.
Only recently, on losing his form with the team, the manager’s approach to the team has made him change his decision as he doesn’t want to risk the player following his recovery from his knee injury, although the player was adamant about being selected in the squad.
The most probable cover-ups for the Englishman getting left out, are big players who carry the same potential as the player but only don’t have the versatility. Kieran Trippier and Trent Alexander Arnold are the ones, while Kyle Walker of Manchester City is still surrounded by doubts following his injury.
