REVEALED: Robert Lewandowski’s contract and salary details at Barcelona

Robert Lewandowski and Joan Laporta

Robert Lewandowski officially joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich on July 20 after a lot of rumours and discussions. The Polish striker wasn’t cheap, Xavi’s team had to pay the German powerhouses €45 million plus €5 million in options to acquire their man.

Robert Lewandowski was eager to leave Bayern as his contract was about to expire and the Bundesliga club was reportedly hesitant to grant him a long-term deal. When it came to the 33-year-old, Barcelona showed little hesitation and signed Lewandowski to a contract that lasts until June 2026.

Lewandowski will make 25% less at Barcelona than he did at Bayern Munich, if rumours are to be accepted. According to Spanish publication AS, the Polish star was making €12 million (£10 million/$12.2 million) a year in Germany after taxes and will now be receiving a net income of €9 million (£7.5 million/$9.2 million). Lewandowski’s income has been significantly reduced, but he has still committed to Barcelona for the next four years and is still earning sums that the majority of us can only imagine.

Annual income is €9 million. The pay per month is €750,000, making the pay per week €173,076, pay each day €24,725 and the pay per hour will be €1,030.

After competing in the Bundesliga for the previous 12 years with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, Lewandowski was eager to join a team that offered him a fresh challenge. Lewandowski found his ideal team in a Barcelona squad that was seeking to recover from a difficult few seasons.

“I am very happy. It’s a new challenge for me as well because I know that in football you have to be always hungry and I stay hungry for my mentality and to win the games and score goals,” Lewandowski said at his unveiling.
