Rio Ferdinand goes off on the Glazers after their lack of interest and communication in helping Manchester United succeed as a club. The American Businessmen bought the club back in 2005 through a leveraged buyout.

The Glazers bought a majority stake at Manchester United in 2005 for a price of around $1.5 Billion. Assets of the club were used as collateral in the purchase leaving the club $787 million in debt. Ever since then fans have shown their disdain for the club’s ownership. Protests, chants during games, and green-yellow scarves have all been done to show that fans are against the Glazers.

Largely, this explains why the fans were elated when the Glazers finally decided to sell the club back in 2022. However, nine months after that statement the Red Devils have not been sold and have also been taken out of the market.

Rio Ferdinand is one of the many ex-Manchester United players who hates the way the club is run. The ex-player went on a small rant – on ‘Vibe with Five’ – about the Glazers and how they ran the club. “Communication in any business is vital. Their lack of communication is deafening, it’s disgraceful”, he stated.

“If you own something, Surely they love the club. I’m led to believe ‘No’ they don’t, it’s just a business.” Rio believes that there is a culture lacking in the club which previously helped the club be the best in England.

Chants of “We want Glazers out” will never stop at Old Trafford until the club is sold. With interest from Qatar shown towards the club, United fans will be hoping that the sale is done.

Gary Neville criticizes the Glazers

One of the ex-Manchester United players who has been extremely vocal about the Glazers is Gary Neville. The ex-player never shied away from criticizing the ownership when it needed to be done. Whether it’s on TV, Twitter, or any other social media, the man has exhausted any possible avenue to get his point across on the Manchester United ownership.

Gary recently went on Twitter to show his disdain for the ownership. He stated, “You own a business and everything good and bad sits with you! They inherited the best in all areas. They’ve overseen 10 years of mediocrity off the pitch and on the pitch.” This is not the first time he’s spoke on the Glazers. Gary Neville labeled the owners ‘Spineless’ when Manchester United was first linked with the European Super League.

While the Glazers are under ownership, fans, ex-players, and pundits, no one sees Manchester United reaching the heights they were once at. Gary Neville is just one of the public figures who is openly sharing the sentiment.
