Rique Puig on the verge of signing for LA Galaxy after no game time at Barcelona
In his search to leave Camp Nou this summer, Catalan youth product Rique Puig has chosen LA Galaxy as one of the many possibilities for the next season. As for FC Barcelona, they have had a great transfer window so far grabbing five stellar players with the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde ready to rock the famous Barca shirt.
FC Barcelona’s financial difficulties have been quite a mystery this season as they have already knocked off three big money signings- €72 million for Raphinha, €50 million for Lewandowski, €50 million for Jules Kounde and aren’t looking to put a stop to their addition anytime soon. So they have already informed Puig about sending him on for a year-long loan deal.

It is also quite clear that Xavi Hernández doesn’t have the hot prospect in his plans for this summer after bringing in Franck Kessie to sharpen that position. He also added that he doesn’t want a talent like Puig to warm the bench for the season and would want him to try his luck somewhere away from Barcelona and keep on growing as a player.
Puig was approached by the American side Los Angeles Galaxy and some sources have already confirmed that the verbal agreement has already been confirmed among the team and the player if everything goes as planned, when will be able to see Puig in the Galaxy jersey in the coming week.
Despite the verbal agreement, the deal has to be completed soon as the MLS transfer period ends on the 4th of August and it is expected that the clubs will confirm the loan deal anytime soon. There is no doubt in the capabilities of the player as Xavi has already told what a dynamic player he is and how good he is on the ball.
LA Galaxy isn’t having the best of seasons this year due to a string of inconsistent performances and things went from bad to worse after they suffered yet another defeat last weekend to FC Dallas and have now dropped to eighth place in the Western Conference league.
With just 12 games to go for the regular season, LA Galaxy would benefit hugely from the addition of Puig into their squad who always looks for the ball and can help the team to have quicker transitions.
