Ryan Reynolds sends Ben Foster a farewell message as the goalkeeper announced his retirement on 21st August. April 23rd Wrexham played Notts County in a dramatic 3-2 win for the Welsh side.

Only has 12 appearances at the club and Ben Foster will already go down as a cult hero for the Red Dragons. No Wrexham fan will forget the game against Notts County at the Racecourse Ground. It was one of those games for the fans where they will remember what time it was, what they were doing, and who they were with. A moment now etched in their memories till the day they die, a win that sealed their ticket to the Football League for the first time in 15 years.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham AFC under the company name ‘RR McReynolds LLC‘ in 2020. Under their new owners, Wrexham made massive strides finishing 2nd in only their second season with their new owners. The company’s pulling power was so strong, they managed to buy Paul Mullin, a player from one division above. Paul Mullin’s purchase proved a huge difference, scoring 26 goals in only his first season at the club. However, it was not enough for promotion. Mullin’s 2nd season at the club saw a huge improvement scoring 12 more goals putting his total for the season at 38. His most important coming against Notts County.

With Wrexham’s promotion, RR McReynolds LLC are one step closer to their dreams of reaching the Premier League. With new sponsorship deals and their contributions towards the local community, Premier League or not, the fans already have a soft spot for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Two clubs fighting for the top spot. Wrexham vs Notts County at the Racecourse Ground. Their reverse fixture saw Notts County take all the spoils as they emerged 1-0 victors. Wrexham hoping for a better result this time, found themselves 1-0 down at halftime. A quick reply by Paul Mullin leveled the score just 3 minutes into the second half. The teams kept exchanging blows. By the 78th minute of the game, Wrexham were leading the game 3-2. Then in the 95th minute, Eoghan O’Connell gives away a handball, as the referee points to the penalty spot for Notts County.

Up stepped Cedwyn Scott. 96th minute of the game. This was to equalize the score and salvage a point. Ben Foster had other plans as he dives to his right, guessing the right way and saving the penalty. The stadium erupted. Wrexham players were jumping for joy as their goalkeeper had secured them the win. The camera pans to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney who can’t believe what they just witnessed. This was Ben Foster’s moment.
