Chelsea welcomed their new signing Mykhailo Mudryk. The Blues signed the footballer from Shakhtar Donetsk just a few days ago. The London club beat Arsenal to bring the star signing to Stamford Bridge for a $70 million price tag. The Shakhtar Donetsk sensation witnessed Chelsea’s 1-0 home victory against Crystal Palace as he arrived fresh in London.

The President of the Ukrainian club, Rinat Akhmetov, made some good fortune after selling Mudryk to the Premier League giants. According to reports from the Guardian, the club donated over $25 million to the state government to aid the armed forces because of the war. The football club launched a project for the soldiers and their families as support in these rigid times.

“I am donating $25m (£20.5m) of Mykhailo’s transfer fee to help our soldiers, defenders, and their families. The money will be used to cover different needs, from providing medical and prosthetic treatment and psychological support to meeting specific requests.” Akhmetov said in a press conference.

Shakhtar Donetsk agreed to the winger’s transfer just a few days ago. The Premier League club has agreed to pay Shakhtar a staggering fee of over $75 million for the 22-year-old attacker. He was wanted by many top-European clubs after a series of top performances in the UCL.
