Shakira is reportedly growing increasingly frustrated after her mother spoke to the press about the Columbian singer’s split from longtime boyfriend Gerard Pique. According to Marca, the Waka Waka hitmaker requested that her mother refrains from speaking to the media about the former couple.
Ripoll reportedly stated that she would like to see Shakira and Pique reconcile, but the Popstar has reportedly asked her to remain silent. Ripoll has been in Barcelona in recent weeks, according to Informalia. She is staying with her daughter to support her after her separation from Pique.
Shakira’s mother, Nidia Ripoll, expressed her admiration for the footballer during an interview with Europa Press. “Of course, I would like them to get back together. She is feeling better every day, thanks to God,“ Ripoll said. In response to rumours of the singer relocating to Miami, she stated, “I have no idea, we’ve not spoken about that.”

Meanwhile, Roberto Garcia, the ex-boyfriend of one of Shakira’s sisters, revealed to the Spanish newspaper EsDiario that Pique had asked Shakira for money to invest, which she refused. According to Garcia, the incident affected their relationship, and they called it quits after a series of arguments and fights.
“According to what a person very close to them has told me, there has been an economic problem between the two,” Garcia told the outlet. “Supposedly, Piqué would have asked Shakira for money for an investment issue and the singer’s family has refused to give it to him,” he added. “They don’t mix their money and they keep the family economy at 50%.”
