Pop star Shakira took a huge swipe at former partner Gerard Pique in his latest track following their break in 2022. Social media could not keep calm after listening to Shakira’s latest track in which she targeted Pique and his new girlfriend.

The lyrics of the song had lines like “Traded a Ferrari for a Twingo” and “a Rolex for a Casio” are mentioned. Another line begins like, “A wolf like me isn’t for guys like you”, referencing her 2009 hit “She Wolf.”

It all began in the summer of 2022. Shakira released a statement informing the world about her breakup with the former FC Barcelona captain, Gerard Pique. The couple had a rough end to their relationship of 11 years as reports suggested that the Spaniard cheated on the Colombian.

Following her breakup, Shakira told Elle that Pique never put enough effort to keep their long-term relationship. “As a soccer player, he wanted to play football and to win titles and I had to support him,” said Shakira as per GOAL.

“One of the two had to make that effort and that sacrifice. And I did it. I put my career in second gear and I came to Spain, to support him so he could play football and win titles. And it was a sacrifice of love,” added the renowned Pop star.

Twitteratis could not hold their emotions after Shakira dropped her new song in which she took huge swipes at Pique. Her music video has got over 14 million views since its release. Recently, Shakira also referred to her breakup on January 1 with an Instagram post. The post had topics like ‘healing’ and ‘moving on’ after a break.

Pique and Shakira broke up in June 2022. Various reports suggest that the Spaniard who recently retired from football is allegedly dating Clara Chia.

Coming to football, Gerard Pique played his last football match against Almeria for FC Barcelona. The Spaniard confirmed his retirement with an emotional video posted on his social media account. He won a lot of silverware with FC Barcelona and Premier League club Manchester United.
