Popstar singer Shakira amidst rumors about her performance at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar has shunned all the rumors. She has reportedly stepped down from her highly anticipated performance, and also quoted the Human Rights abuses in the Gulf country, as per reports.
Calling for the host nation to address its issues with the LGBT+ community and abuses regarding them. The singer was one of the most anticipated luxury presence in the country and fans from all around the world, agreed with that. The country has been surrounded by protests from the whole world condemning the World Cup hosts.
Following pop star Dua Lipa, after she herself announced her exit from the world cup, only a few months back she came out as bisexual and sighting her issues with the gulf country’s extreme laws and treatment of migrant workers, following her footsteps, Shakira also reportedly dropped out.
Qatar has been surrounded by high criticism, and protests against the gulf country becoming the host of the cup, several former players, coaches, and pundits have denied their association with the big event.
