The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi has lost possession more times than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues this season. The PSG star man has lost possession 155 times this season from 11 matches he appeared in across all competitions. English club Liverpool’s fullback Trent Alexander-Arnold stands second with losing possession 154 times.

In this 2022/23 season, Messi had scored 6 goals and assisted 8 in 11 matches for PSG. He managed a staggering 1.40 G/A ratio this season and tops Ligue-1 for most assists. He also tops the list for most passes made into the final third and averages 65 passes per match with a pass completion rate of 85%.

PSG won their last game against Lyon 1-0, with Messi scoring the sole goal in the 5th minute. After the international break, PSG will face Nice in their next match on 2nd October, at 12:30 am (IST). The Parisians stay top of the league with 22 points from 8 matches, seven wins, and 1 draw in this season’s campaign.
