According to recent reports by the Daily Mail, British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe hopes to have a transfer approach similar to the one Sir Alex Ferguson used to employ. Ratcliffe and his firm INEOS Group are almost set to buy a 25 percent minority stake in Manchester United.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the CEO of INEOS Chemicals and owner of Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, is close to agreeing terms with the club, giving him significant decision-making powers. Ratcliffe may now switch towards a completely different strategy of signing more homegrown players for the club. However, the club will not be alien to the change. The new strategy will be similar to the one Sir Alex Ferguson used during his 26-year stint as United manager.

The Red Devils spent a lot on foreign players in recent seasons, but the results haven’t been good. To improve, they plan to get a new midfielder and a right-footed center-back in January. Ratcliffe might also bring in new faces like Paolo Maldini and Paul Mitchell as Sporting Director, further shaking the management.

United’s new players like Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Sofyan Amrabat haven’t performed well. The team aims to bounce from its recent slump and regain its former glory.

United manager Erik ten Hag could get sacked after Sir Jim Ratcliffe takes over

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s arrival at Manchester United could jeopardize Erik ten Hag‘s position. Calls to dismiss the Dutch manager have come from both, fans and football pundits.

Mail Sports‘ Manchester United expert, Chris Wheeler, predicts that the Dutchman might be the first casualty after Ratcliffe takes over. Currently, United is struggling in all competitions, facing potential elimination from the Champions League group stage. Ratcliffe’s £1.3 billion takeover will shift control from the Glazers to him.

A complete management overhaul, possibly starting with ten Hag’s departure, is on the cards. Additionally, Ratcliffe’s team may consider selling underperforming players like Sancho and Varane. A significant shake-up for Manchester United appears imminent.
