“Greatest team in the world; Let the party begin”- Social media dances in joy as Victor Osimhen guides Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years
Osimhen equals the record for most goals by an African in Serie A.

Napoli confirmed their status as Serie A champions after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Udinese. The Fruilani gave Napoli a scare with an early goal, however, the away side was able to come back thanks to a brilliant goal from Victor Osimhen.
The result means Napoli has now won three national titles. Luciano Spalletti is the oldest coach ever to win Serie A, at 64 years of age. The Partenopei let a lead slip against local rivals Salernitana last weekend, and Lazio ran out winners versus Sassulo yesterday, delaying their celebrations twice. However, with matters in their own hands, Napoli eventually got to the finish line.
The away side dominated possession in the early stages but could not create any meaningful opportunities. Udinese led in the 13th minute as Lovric picked up a pass from the left by Destiny Udogie and fired an unstoppable 15-yard shot into the top right corner. A drab first half ensued, with Osimhen almost scoring an excellent header to bring Napoli level.
This season’s Capocannoniere had a chance early on in the second half too, and this team he did not miss. Kvicha Kvaratskhelia shot low and hard from the edge of the box, with the save bouncing straight into the big striker’s path. Osimhen hammered home his 22nd goal of the campaign, sealing the Scudetto in the process. The game was tight, with Napoli not playing at the high level they have been all season. It is an understandable decrease in tempo, with the title secured and no other trophies to play for this season. Their supporters will not be bothered in the slightest however, and the city of Naples will surely be in a cheerful mood for the near future.
