“The strongest team in the Champions League”: Mohamed Salah on Real Madrid ahead of UCL final 2021-22

Mohamed Salah has given a glimpse into the mood in Liverpool’s dressing room ahead of their last Premier League encounter of the season. The Reds are chasing Manchester City for the league crown, but are one point behind going into the last matchday.

In the same interview, Mohamed Salah went on to explain his past remarks against Real Madrid. The Egyptian confessed earlier this month how he wants to play in the Champions League finals against the Spanish giants, and he has now clarified what he meant.

“Everyone is enthusiastic as we chat to one other (as a team)”. They won the league two years ago because of this predicament. “We’re all hopeful, and now it’s up to you to win your match and see what happens.”, said the Egyptian winger.

He further said that he is talking about the best team in Champions League history, and he stated that because of what transpired before in the final in 2018. He added that it will be a challenging encounter, as this Madrid squad has beaten practically all of the top teams, but he is really looking forward to the final, and he hopes to win it.

“It was as if I said something terrible about Real Madrid when I stated I wish we could meet them,” Salah concluded.

On Sunday, Liverpool will entertain Wolves at Anfield, while City will host Aston Villa. If Liverpool wins and Man City loses, Jurgen Klopp‘s team will be crowned champions. In the last week of the 2018/19 season, the Reds were in a pretty much identical position, but City won.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah lost to Kevin de Bruyne on the Premier League player of the year award despite scoring 22 goals and providing 13 assists in the league.
