The best goal he has ever seen, according to Kylian Mbappe, was Cristiano Ronaldo‘s overhead kick for Real Madrid against Juventus in the Champions League. Mbappe cites Ronaldo as his biggest source of inspiration in football.

When asked who he looked up to growing up, the Paris Saint-Germain player named Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar in an interview with beIN Sports. “I had a lot of idols, there was Cristiano who I loved a lot, and during this period we have had Cristiano and Messi”, the Frenchman said. “I have the chance to play with Neymar who I admired a lot when I was young. They are the players that I admire a lot.”

When asked if those players still serve as his inspiration, Mbappe responded: “For sure, when you have the chance to play at the top, you need to take inspiration from the best.”

The Frenchman then cited Cristiano Ronaldo’s bicycle kick against Juventus in the 2018 Champions League quarterfinal as the greatest goal he had ever witnessed. He stated, The goal of Ronaldo against Gigi (Buffon.) I had the chance to play with Gigi and he talked to me about it and the feeling he had when it happened during this legendary goal, so I would say this one.” In a commercial for Nike, Ronaldo gushed about Mbappe and said that the French forward is the future. “Mbappe is the future and the present”, Cristiano said. “He’s a fantastic player, very fast, and he will be the future.”

When asked which of his goals was his favourite, Mbappe added: “I would say my goal against Croatia during the final of the World Cup. It was the most important goal I scored until now. “To select one I have scored is very difficult, because I can remember all of them. But I always keep in mind the importance of the match when I score and the opponent, so I would say that one.”

That’s all there is to it. As things stand, the younger generation will regard Mbappe as the pinnacle of football for the ensuing decade. The Frenchman has almost achieved all accolades in football and is still just 23.
