Sir Alex Ferguson has his name in the history books of Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has his name in the history books and many would consider him the greatest manager of all time and by far the most successful manager in the history of Manchester United. His way of managing and his tactics earned him a call from the English FA who wanted him to coach and manage the England national team but he had refused them without giving the job a second thought.

It was very tough and was quite shocking for some English fans con considering Ferguson being Scottish but still the English FA wanted to bring in the Manchester United coach after the success he had delivered for the club. He delivered 13 Premier Leagues along with two Champions League titles and Ferguson revealed the incident in 2015 how desperate the English FA was to bring him into the role trying not once but twice.

Sir Alex Ferguson described the reason why he rejected the offer to coach the English Team.

Sir Alex Ferguson spoke to Dan Walker in 2015 and stated his reason for refusing Adam Crozier, then FA Chief Executive who wanted him to coach the national side. Crozier caught hold of Martin Edwards who asked Sir Alex about the offer and Ferguson said, “no way, I’m not gonna manage England. The thing was, why would I leave Manchester United? I was as happy as a landlord at this great club.”

He also said,” The motivation was there, you look at the training ground and see all these great players. The motivations were the players, the dressing room, the opportunity to win football matches, and the biggest motivation of all was to win football matches and I was definitely at the right club.
