Thomas Muller has taken a dig at Serge Gnabry’s new look ahead of the Champions League clash against Manchester City. He suggests the 27-year-old’s look is “a mixture of Harry Potter and Steve Urkel and a scoring machine”. Joao Cancelo was there to witness the bantering as all three were on their way to England for the fixture.

The German forward has a reputation for routinely mocking opposing teams, teammates, and even supporters. He previously aimed a dig at Lionel Messi, saying things “always go well” for Bayern Munich against the Argentine icon. This came after PSG succumbed to a 3-0 defeat on aggregate as well as a famous 8-2 mauling when on the books at Barcelona in 2020 where Messi represented the clubs during the tenure.

The Bayern Munich forward has said Barcelona is unable to cope with intensity in top-level football after its Champions League exit. “I think Barça can’t cope with the intensity. Technically, they have it all, they are great players tactically and technically. But they can’t cope with the intensity in top football.” He has also challenged other teams prior to the match and we may see a similar feat against the Blues.

Manchester City will host Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals at the Etihad. Muller has been one of the driving forces of the squad and is likely to start the match. The second leg will be played in the Allianz Arena on 20th April. Both teams are contenders for the trophy and without a doubt will be a feisty run of affairs.
