Three possible destinations for Mohamed Salah if he chooses to leave Liverpool this summer
Mohamed Salah is stalling to sign a new contract and demanding wages that would make him the highest earner in the Premier League which Liverpool are reluctant to accept his demands as it would disrupt their wage structure.
The Egypt international will enter the final year of his contract at Anfield next season but there have been few strides made towards a new deal so far. The forward is keen to be rewarded for his jaw-dropping form over the past four years at the club.
However, Liverpool have been reluctant to meet his demands so far as they do not want to break their wage structure. It has led to a dangerous situation wherein Salah could end up leaving even for nothing at the end of next season.
Liverpool are one of the smartest clubs when it comes to recruiting at a minimal fee and selling their star players at substantially astronomical value. Situation of Mohamed Salah’s contract dispute has alerted Europe’s elite and Liverpool may end listening to offers for the star player
Here are three possible destinations for Mo Salah if he ends up demanding a move away from Liverpool:
1. Paris Saint-Germain
If there is one club in the world that can offer you luxury only one can dream of, it has to be PSG. Le Parisians have the most expensive squad ever assembled in football history and would love to add another jewel to their crown. Mohamed Salah’s wage demands would not be an issue for the French giants so as the fees which will be acquired to complete the deal with Liverpool.
With PSG trying to offload Neymar and his entourage, his adequate replacement has to be someone more or equal to his calibre and Mo Salah fits the bill.
The only huddle to the transfer could be where the 29-year-old would fit in the starting lineup. With Lionel Messi occupying the right wing, Salah would have to operate at the left side of the attack which would not be a big concern taking into account Mo Salah’s versatility and attacking prowess.
2. Barcelona
With Ousmane Dembele set to leave on a free and Barcelona reluctant to meet Wolves’ € 30 million valuation of Adama Traore, there seems to be a gaping hole in Barcelona’s right flank. Barcelona’s president Joan Laporta seems to be ambitious in the transfer market this summer with negotiating a move for the likes of Bayern talisman Robert Lewandowski.
Xavi has expressed in the past his admiration for Mo Salah and Barcelona need to strengthen in order to break Real’s dominance in the La Liga. Signing Mohamed Salah would certainly be a coup for the Blaugrana but the bigger concern would be the funds needed to complete such a massive move.
Barcelona are still not able to register the likes of Marcos Alonso, Andreas Christensen and Azpilicueta who are set to arrive on a free in the summer so a move for Salah seems unlikely but wilder things have happened in the world of football.
3. Juventus
Juventus hasn’t been the same since losing Cristiano Ronaldo and their Serie A crown to Inter Milan last season. Their football this season has helped fans with sleeping disorder to have a quick nap and they were nowhere near achieving any piece of silverware this season.
Making a move for the Egyptian king would be more of a necessity than a luxury in order to generate enthusiasm among the fans. It will also add experience to their young forward line of Dusan Vlahovic and Frederico Chiesa who have struggled with consistent form over the season.
Salah guarantees goals and Juventus are in desperate need of it and this would certainly be a poster signing for the Seria A in general.
