Tottenham Hotspur captain and goalkeeper Hugo Lloris could be leaving the London club in the next window. As per reports from reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, MLS side LAFC is in advanced talks regarding a transfer with the 37-year-old keeper.
Concluding his 11-year tenure with the North London club, Lloris has made over 440 appearances with the team since joining them in 2012. Despite his continuous loyalty and contribution to the side, Lloris has yet to feature much in Ange Postecoglou‘s starting eleven.
His contract ends mid-season, and the manager has already assigned him to look for opportunities away from the club. The talks with LAFC are in their ‘final stages’; and are expected to be completed before February.
If the move is completed, Hugo Lloris will enter the list of high-rated European players who have moved to the American club. Giorgio Chiellini of Juventus moved in 2022, and if the Premier League club do not solve the situation around Lloris’ contract, he could be on his way to follow in his footsteps.
Spurs RECALL Son Heung-min’s replacement
Tottenham recalls teenage striker Dane Scarlett from Ipswich Town. Scarlett, on a long-term deal, struggled for playing time, with less than 150 minutes in over half the Championship season, and no goals, assists, or starts.
The 19-year-old, who spent the previous season at League 1 club Portsmouth, will return to Tottenham amid ongoing talks about ending his loan deal with Ipswich. Scarlett’s recall is seen as a response to Tottenham captain Son Heung-min‘s participation in the Asian Cup, creating a need for additional attacking options.
Dane Scarlett, back at Tottenham after a tough time at Ipswich, aims for new opportunities in January. Kieran McKenna notes Scarlett’s recall due to injuries and the main forward’s international commitments. Despite challenges at Ipswich, Scarlett, who debuted for England Under-21, strives to leave his mark in senior football.
