Tottenham Hotspurs targets 21-year-old Djed Spence as this season’s fifth signing; can close the player for a deal worth around £15-16 million

Djed Spence has reportedly been on Tottenham’s radar since January as a result of his performance while on loan at Nottingham Forest, according to Sky Sports.

But despite two rounds of negotiations, Spurs and Middlesbrough have not yet come to an agreement. As a result of his spectacular play for Forest, the Championship team is asking at least £15 million for his services, while Tottenham believes he is worth £10 million.

In addition, Sky Sports reports that Daniel Levy and company are ready to back out of the arrangement if they are unable to reach an understanding. Despite the current delay, Crook and The Telegraph both feel the Champions League team is still in a prime position to capture the 21-year-old star.

Crook said, “It’s a long window, there are still two months to go. There were more talks last week, they still haven’t yet been able to agree to a fee, but I think it will happen. Djed Spence has already agreed to personal terms with Tottenham, it’s just a case of the two clubs coming together.”

Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, and Yves Bissouma have already been signed by Antonio Conte, but Spurs have so far been unsuccessful in their efforts to bring the youthful right wing-back to north London.

Conte is far from done, despite having officially confirmed the arrival of three players. In fact, with the club nearly finalizing agreements for two additional players, it appears as though the Spurs manager is only getting started.

Clement Lenglet, a French international, is anticipated to join Conte’s defense on a season-long loan from Barcelona, according to The Athletic. He will compete for playing time there. Richarlison, a star player for Everton, is scheduled to get a physical before making a £60 million transfer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In addition, according to Sky Sports, Fabio Paratici is still expecting to provide Conte with a left center-back despite being associated with players like Alessandro Bastoni and Pau Torres, while the Christian Eriksen rumors imply that another midfielder might yet arrive.
