And other people were involved in the accident. This included those travelling on the tram.

Witnesses to the collision also confirmed Ciro’s claims that the tram didn’t respect the red light. The striker’s Land Rover SUV is reportedly wrecked following the incident.

Reports have also stated that Immobile and his two daughters have been taken to the hospital. Although they are not thought to be seriously injured. It also stated the striker accompanied one injured person to the hospital. And he was checking up on their well-being following the crash.

This horrific incident comes just days after Immobile ended a six-game run without a goal by scoring in Lazio’s 3-0 victory over Spezia in Serie A. Maurizio Sarri’s side is currently second in the Italian top flight after a fine season. And they look set to reach the Champions League proper for just the second time in 16 seasons

Lazio is due to be back in action with a home game against Torino next Saturday. But it remains to be seen whether Immobile will be fit enough to feature, especially after this incident.

Ciro Immobile reportedly ended his goal drought as he scored his first Lazio goal after nearly two months against Spezia. He netted the opening penalty in his team’s 3-0 win at Serie A strugglers Spezia on Friday.

Immobile helped Lazio strengthen their hold on the second spot with a fourth straight win by scoring the penalty in the 36th minute at the Stadio Picco stadium . And that took his league tally in an injury-hit season to 10. Felipe Anderson won the spot-kick when he went down under Ethan Ampadu’s challenge. It was harshly judged to be both a foul and a bookable offence. And the Welshman was sent off later following his second yellow card.

Speaking about his goal, in the post-match interview, Ciro said, “The goal was important for me because this season hasn’t been all that good. The team did really well in my absence so I promised them that I would give everything to reach our goals with them. It’s been an unlucky season for me, once you start getting injured it can go on for what seems like forever, but I’m not giving up”.

The win boosts Lazio’s bid for next season’s Champions League. They are eight points in front of third-placed local rivals Roma. Roma are set to host Udinese on Sunday night.
