On Friday, when the United States Women’s National Team played Canada, they openly supported the Canadian women’s team in their fight for equal rights. Amongst the people who backed them were the likes of Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, Becky Sauerbrunn, and other renowned USWMT players.

The Canadian women’s team informed their federation that they would go on strike because they did not receive equitable wage distribution. The Canadian Soccer Association threatened the players with legal action, and the protest was called off on Sunday. Women have long struggled to earn an equal or greater salary than males, but women’s tennis has broken the glass ceiling. This year, the United States also approved legislation to provide equal compensation for women’s soccer teams.

“There are just some things that are so much bigger than what’s happening on the field, just basic human rights and respect and getting what they deserve. We’re talking about the Olympic champions here, so that was so well-deserved and such a huge step forward for them. To have their federation meet them this way after winning a world championship is just f***ing wild to me. We’re with them all the time,” Rapinoe stated.

Alex Morgan also said, “Canada is just getting started, and they know the long road ahead for them, because we just went through that. I hope it’s a shorter road for them, and we’ll do anything possible to try and publicize what they’re fighting for, and why they should achieve that.”

Canadian players earlier stated that they have not been paid in any way- a similar thing that occurred with the men’s team before the 2022 World Cup. If the problem is not resolved, the players plan to go on strike in April, during the forthcoming FIFA international window.

This backlash comes after a huge rise in the number of fans following mostly all games both out of their love for it and as per a verdict In 2021, Canadian lawmakers allowed the nation’s Criminal Code to allow for single-game sports betting/casinos which again becomes a revenue stream that was neglected. However, for other sports like Ice Hockey, Golf and Basketball people can still bet using the most trusted online casinos in Canada which can be checked out at BestCasinoSites.net.

Alex Morgan plans to avoid traveling to places that forbid trans athletes. In addition to writing and publishing op-eds, Morgan has supported Becky Sauerbrunn, a teammate. The USWNT currently participates in the SheBelievesCup.

“The inclusion of trans kids in sports is the inclusion of kids in sports. Everyone should have the ability to play sport,” Morgan told in an earlier interview. Despite the fact that the USWNT’s current tournament is being held in both Texas and Florida, she intends to boycott those states.

The USWNT, who are the tournament favorites, will take on Japan on Monday. We’ll find out if they protest or not when they play Brazil the following week in Texas’ Toyota Stadium.
