“Wants to test out his capabilities in every league”- Erling Haaland’s father reveals son’s future plans

According to Erling Haaland’s father, the striker is eager to try himself in each of the top five leagues in Europe, hinting he might not stay at Manchester City for very long. The majority of the top teams in the league were interested in signing the Norwegian last summer, but he eventually signed with City after leaving Borussia Dortmund, where he amassed 86 goals and 23 assists in just 89 appearances across all competitions.

Alf-Inge Haaland, the striker’s father, has stated he wants similar records across Europe before he hangs up his boots. Having crossed Germany off his list, Haaland is lighting it up in England with 14 goals in just ten games.

“I think Erling wants to test out his capabilities in every league,” he said in new documentary, Haaland: The Big Decision. “Then he can stay in every league for three to four years maximum. He could have two-and-a-half years in Germany, two-and-a-half in England, and then in Spain, Italy, France, right? We do not know if it will be like that, but I think he would like to test his abilities in the big leagues.”
