Things have been tough for Chelsea and their fans. They lost their 18th Premier League match of the year, are in 12th in the Premier League, and have the most expensive squad that struggles week-in-week-out. After losing 2-0 to Everton in the Goodison Park, their striker attacked an opponent unprovoked.

Nicola Jackson, who was purchased from Villareal for £32 Million, has had a knock of missing more than scoring. Despite scoring six goals in the season, he has 10 big chances missed. After yet another goalless appearance, he fell to the ground, sad with the loss. Nathan Patterson, went up to the striker, offered to help him up, and was rejected, so the defender patted Jackson’s back. As the defender walked away, Jackson chased him and attacked him.

The striker grabbed Patterson’s neck as the remaining Everton players came to get Jackson away from their teammate. A furious Jackson was then dragged away by Mauricio Pochettino from the pitch and then sent into the dressing room along with some assistant coaches.

Chelsea have fallen to 12th place after losing to Everton. Strikes from Adeboye Doucoure and Lewis Dobbin gave Chelsea their 7th loss of the season. The Blues will now play Sheffield United on 16th December, Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino blamed Chelsea’s inability to score

With Chelsea losing once again, Mauricio Pochettino highlighted one of the biggest problems faced by Chelsea in the current year. He pointed out how his team was unable to score goals, and how football was always about scoring goals. He also said the team needed to enter the transfer market for more reinforcements, despite the club already spending over £1 Billion in 2023 on players.

Football is about scoring goals, and we were not clinical in front of goal. I’m disappointed. We didn’t get the points we deserved. I think we were better, but we didn’t get what we wanted. This was a game to play and to win. It’s a problem we need to check. We need to analyze the reality. We need to talk and to try to improve in the next transfer market.

Chelsea have had 31 big chances missed in the Premier League, with Jackson missing one-third of those. Along with that, they have hit the woodwork 8 times, while Jackson has found himself in offside positions 10 times in the season.
