Dembele was filmed talking to fans about his future while stuck in traffic, and while his answers should obviously be taken with a pinch of salt, the conversation was nonetheless interesting.

Dembele responded, ‘Yes’ when asked if he wanted to stay in Barcelona. He then laughed off reports that he’s in contact with Chelsea over a potential move. When asked if he wanted to work with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel again after their time together at Borussia Dortmund, the 25-year-old replied, “I’m fine in Barcelona.”

While Dembele claims in the video that he wants to stay at Camp Nou, club president Joan Laporta recently revealed that the winger and his representatives have yet to respond to their most recent contract offer. With Dembele’s contract expiring in less than a fortnight, time is running out to reach an agreement.

First-team coach Xavi Hernandez refused to send Ousmane Dembele to the stands to watch the rest of Barca’s trophyless campaign, and instead exacted top form from the 25-year-old who became a leader in assists across the squad while also challenging the likes of Karim Benzema and Lionel Messi in the discipline across the rest of Europe.

Manchester United, Chelsea, PSG, and Juventus are also among the clubs to be credited with an interest in the forward, who has spent the last five years at Barcelona, arriving from Borussia Dortmund in August 2017 for a record 130 million pounds.
