Sergio Ramos for PSG

In the last game against Monaco, the French club Paris Saint Germain defender Sergio Ramos miserably failed while trying to imitate the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi‘s overhead kick in a goal-scoring opportunity. The video went viral on social media platforms and was the victim of memes.

His PSG teammate Lionel Messi had scored a sensational overhead goal this way during the season’s opening match against Clermont Foot. Messi scored twice and PSG went on winning by 5-0. Sergio Ramos tried the kick during yesterday’s game against Monaco. The match ended in a 1-1 draw where Volland scored for Monaco and Neymar equalized for PSG.

Lionel Messi’s bicycle kick always attracted fans and was a move every footballer and player wanted to try. There are a lot of people who imitate it and some get it. Ramos is definitely a player with high perseverance and determination for the game. His trial failing does not mean anything.

But the media has taken it to be a reason for a joke and he is being pictured funny for even trying to imitate the great Lionel Messi. Every move is about trying, failing, and failing better. Even though Ramos’s fall had opened doors to many criticisms, he is still a player with a high success rate in his career.
