WATCH: Steelers’ George Pickens hits Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature celebration ‘SIUU’
George Pickens doing Cristiano Ronaldo's celebration
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Geroge Pickens celebrated like Cristiano Ronaldo “SIUU” after a crucial two-point conversion against Indianapolis Colts. The rookie, who was picked by the Steelers in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft must be one of the millions of admirers of the Portuguese great. Pickens does the iconic celebration, after the successful conversion that gave his team a huge push for a ’24-17′ victory.
It was the Rookie who called it the night for the Steelers in a Monday Night Football showdown at the Lucas Oil Stadium. Prior to the Steelers’ big win, Cristiano, who faced Uruguay as the second opponent in their 2022 FIFA World Cup run in Qatar, was discredited with the celebration for a goal that later fell into his fellow teammate Bruno’s pockets.
George Pickens finished the night with 57 receiving yards on just three catches, leading all Steelers receivers. George did put a hell of a performance in the game followed by the celebration. However, the celebration was picked up as the headline of the game, though it should’ve been the Steelers’ quarterback Kenny Pickett who threw for 174 yards on 20-for-28 completed passes with no touchdowns or interceptions, which was eventually monumental in the win.
Putting up a huge performance for the Steelers and ending the game with a winning rush, the Colts lost the game with a scoreless third quarter for Pickett and company. The celebration represents match-winning performances from Cristiano on big occasions when the team needs him the most. Ronaldo, on most occasions, is the game-changer for the team he plays in, and when George Pickens scored the game-changing touchdown, he found the celebration to be the aptest one to do.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s nightmare came true against Uruguay despite winning the game, in the 2022 FIFA World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo started off the fixture between Portugal and Uruguay with his usual hunger for goals, especially when his rival Lionel Messi has two in the competition thus far. The Portuguese forward was served with a few chances that went in vain, at the start of the game. However, the player found some hope in the later half of the game when he jumped a towering header on a brilliant curve cross from Bruno Fernandes. Although the Portuguese side took home the victory, CR7’s disappointment was evident.
The magnificent pass, however, found its way into the back of the net itself without getting the touch from CR7’s head. The striker then celebrated the goal as if it was scored by him only which was later reversed to Bruno, and the main man got robbed. A goalless game surely is a nightmare for the Portuguese legend who hates returning bare hands. Later when the striker was subbed off, and soon after, Portugal receives a penalty, and the ‘remorse’ for not being present on the ground at that moment was clearly visible on the striker’s face.
