Roger Federer is regarded as an example of hard work and discipline considering his longevity on the tennis court. He has recently called it off and announced his retirement from the sport after failing to play a single match in the last 12 months due to recovery from his injury. The Swiss legend has had an everlasting career making his debut way back in 1998 and now at the age of 41, he has played his last match alongside Rafa Nadal at the Laver Cup.
The Swiss legend has managed his body and physique and has managed to stay on the top producing some of the best tennis in recent years, and is an inspiration for many sportspersons around- including the footballing legend, Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo had an interview with boxer Gennady Golovkin in a documentary called ‘Parallel Worlds’ where the footballer praised the longevity of the 20-time Grand Slam winner.
Cristiano Ronaldo shared how he is inspired by the spirit of Roger Federer.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a player who works out on his physique and even at the age of 37 is not stopping down and is still as focused and consistent as he was 20 years ago. He cited the example of Roger Federer saying how the tennis legend has managed to stay at the top even at the age of his late-thirties.
He added, “I want to continue in sports, in football. People will look at me and say, ‘Cristiano was an incredible player but now he’s slow’. I don’t want that. You can take care of your body a lot, but that’s not the problem. It depends – from your head, from your motivation, and from experience, which I think is the most difficult thing. In sports, you can gain maturity. Look at Federer in tennis, he is 37 or 38 and still at the top.”
