As Liverpool cruised to victory over West Ham in the Carabao Cup, Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for the London club’s star winger, Jarrod Bowen. After scoring against the Reds, he captured the German manager’s attention who publicly expressed his admiration for the English forward.

He also went as far as to dub him his ‘favorite player’ outside of the Liverpool squad. These comments incited a reaction from West Ham’s striker Michail Antonio who offered a candid suggestion to Klopp. According to Antonio, he underlined Klopp to ‘bring the money’ if they were interested in Bowen.

Bowen who scored the winning goal for West Ham’s Conference League victory has been monumental in the club’s recent rise to success. He was awarded with a seven-year contract with the East London club, to secure his future services.

Antonio’s comments further emphasize the importance of Jarron Bowen for the current West Ham squad. It also addresses the importance of retaining key players and how managers and media turn comments to influence player transfers. With the January window about to open soon, it would be interesting to see if Liverpool make the move for top-tier talents as clubs will ask for prices they feel are justified.
