Former World Cup winner Andres Iniesta was elated as he announced the pregnancy of his wife Anna Ortiz on Instagram. The Vissel Kobe midfielder posted a photo with his wife, whose pregnancy is evident. Iniesta expressed his happiness in the post, as he wrote, “Waiting for you… What a win! Super Mommy!” in the caption. The 38-year-old footballer is a blessed father of 4 children and is expecting his fifth child with Anna Ortiz.

Andres Iniesta, who is currently the captain of the J1 League Vissel Kobe married Anna Ortiz back in 2012. Anna is a 36-year-old renowned fashion designer and a successful businesswoman. Anna Ortiz was born in Catalunya, Spain on December 11, 1986. Andres Iniesta met Ortiz in 2007, at a beachside restaurant and started dating in 2008. The couple married in 2012, after dating for 4 years.

Anna Ortiz lost an unborn child due to a miscarriage in March 2014. She posted an emotional letter about the incident six years later, “Today I feel strong to talk about you and for you. How much you taught us during those 8 months. 8 months of unconditional love, hope and illusion…. but also of fears and uncertainties. Together we learned that the road is never easy and that it is worth all the effort.”

One of the greatest ever midfielders in the history of football, Andres Iniesta rose through the ranks in Barcelona’s first team after his series of star-studded performances for La Masia, The Barcelona academy. Iniesta played a crucial role in Barcelona’s golden generation, teaming up with club legends like Xavi, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi, among others.

A Cule himself, Iniesta made his debut for the first team of Barcelona in 2002, after playing 49 matches with the B Team, scoring 5 goals between 2001 and 2003. He made his first team debut in a UEFA Champions League group match on October 29, 2002, against Club Brugge in a 1-0 victory. Since his debut in 2002, Iniesta went on to play 674 matches for Barcelona, scoring 57 goals and providing 137 assists.

Andres Iniesta also scored the historic Champions League semi-final second-leg goal against Premier League giants Chelsea in 2009. Barcelona needed a goal to progress to the Champions League final, and Iniesta scored a beautiful goal late in the 93rd minute to carry Barcelona to the final. Barcelona went on to defeat Manchester United in the final in a crunching 2-0 victory. Iniesta won an impressive 34 trophies with Barcelona during his 16 years stint with the Catalans.
