John Terry, former Chelsea Captain, had the perfect response to Piers Morgan’s Twitter dig. The 42-year-old, known for his sharp wit, fired back by saying “You have gone missing for 20 years! And you still have a long way to go… I have won more trophies since I retired playing golf than Arsenal have.”

The British journalist however was not one to back down as he replied to Terry’s tweet by saying “Pipe down ‘Tiger’ Terry… it was only 18 years ago that Arsenal went unbeaten in a whole League season (incl stuffing Chelsea, led by you, home & away…). So the only thing that’s ‘missing’ is the word Invincible’ on your CV….”

The Former Aston Villa assistant manager, who retired from professional football in 2018, has since turned to golf and has been making waves on the putting green. He has won several amateur tournaments and has even represented England in international competitions.

Banter has been part of the beautiful game since its inception and jokes between fans indeed show love for their respective clubs. However, all sets of fans will have to agree on one thing – the transfer window spending by Chelsea has certainly set the bar high for the rest of the season. Whether the new signings will live up to the hype remains to be seen.
