“When you see the opponents go to score, Harry Maguire will score for them”- Ghana MP brutally trolls English defender in House amidst ongoing FIFA World Cup
A member of the Ghanaian parliament brutally made fun of Harry Maguire by drawing comparisons between the vice president of that nation and the Manchester United star. Parliament member Isaac Adongo belongs to the opposition National Democratic Congress party.
On Wednesday, the Legislator started debating the 2023 budget, and the opposition NDC said that the government’s New Patriotic Party had mismanaged the economy. Adongo also brought up Maguire as a means of criticising Vice President and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP. Adongo noted that the defender has had a terrible season for Manchester United.
“If you are a fan of football, and I was happy to see the jubilation when Ghana won, but there was a player in the United Kingdom, in England called Maguire who was playing for Manchester United,” Adongo told the Ghana parliament. “Harry Maguire, he’s a defender. He was tackling everybody and throwing his body everywhere. He was seen as the best defender in the world, Manchester United were at the bottom.“
“He became the biggest threat at the centre of the Manchester United defence, tackling Manchester players and giving assists to opponents. Mr Speaker, when you see the opponents go to score, Maguire will score for them,” he brutally said.
What comparison did Ghana MP make between Manchester United’s Harry Maguire & President?
Adongo then used Maguire’s performance drop to contrast him with Bawumia, whom he charged with poor economic management. He attacked the vice president, calling him an “economic Maguire”. “Mr Speaker, you remember in this country we also have an economic Maguire. This economic Maguire, we’re clapping saying this man is the best in managing foreign terms,” Adongo said.
“The same economic Maguire was at Central University delivering lectures on how to restore the value of the Cedi. Mr Speaker why we gave this Maguire the opportunity to be at the centre of our defence, he became the rest of our own goals. Why he thought he was the best in capital opportunity, he moved us to 40.4.”
“Why at that time he was the best at managing the recession at nine per cent, he moved it to 54 per cent. Mr Speaker the biggest issue is now is that when we pay the appearance fee for this Maguire,” he added. Regardless of what is happening, Maguire is playing for England at the World Cup in Qatar. The Three Lions defender is excelling, starting every game as Gareth Southgate’s team advanced to the Round of 16.
